When the opportunity came up to photograph the homecoming of the husband to the sweetest girl, like, ever, I pretty much jumped on it immediately. My good friend Sarah and I hopped in her car and headed to Norfolk for his arrival in April. We met Madison the night before for a margarita (okay, maybe I was the only one that ordered a Margarita… when in Rome…) to get her vision for the photos the next day and to hopefully ease her anxiety a bit. Sarah and I have both first-hand been in Madison’s shoes so I hope we were able to help! It was unseasonably cold and windy but that didn’t stop us. Early the next morning we layered up and set out. We made it into the base about (no kidding) 10 minutes before he walked off the ship. Lucky lucky timing. We were also seriously lucky that Madison and Tommy are such fans of photography and agreed to head to a secondary location for more photos after his homecoming! These two were such a pleasure to be around. They are so madly in love.
Thank you Madison and Tommy for your service and sacrifice. I truly hope that we can see each other again one day. (cough, make babies now, cough)
